History

SomaGenics was incorporated in 1997 as a technology spin-out from SRI International. From its inception, the company’s goal has been to develop innovative products based on high-quality science.  SomaGenics’ funding to date has been from competitive grants through the National Institutes of Health, DARPA, NSF, and others.  Recognizing the value of peer review in providing validation in a young field where advances frequently bring surprises, the company has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.

SomaGenics currently has 15 issued or pending patents in all major markets in areas including direct-delivered shRNA therapeutics, nucleic acid detection, and directed libraries.
